Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them
I read this article on the BBC, regarding how quickly social networking websites remove photographs that have been deleted by users. The part I love is at the end, where the Facebook representative completely lies and basically says, "Oh, we remove the deleted content from our servers immediately. It's just the URL (web address) that stays out there." Sir, if you removed the content immediately, the URL would either spit back a "404 Not Found" error, or a broken image. It most certainly would not display a picture that had been removed. Unless, the Facebook representative was only referring to certain values of "deleted." But I always thought deleted was deleted... Maybe we should get a graphing calculator so we can plot those values and figure out when things will be deleted for real! Current Music:
